I received an imitation unit that has a non-removable sharpening block. It is close to the picture, but not quite. Performance-wise, it’s fine. I was able to sharpen the knife enough to slice a piece of paper with no problems like they do it in professional knife videos. The knife is best sharpened in two stages. The leading curve of the knife is harder to do. So, that should be done first. Then go over again with the whole knife. Once sharp, the knife would go through the sharpener perfectly smoothly, which could be felt from the knife handle. When not sharp, the knife could be felt to be dragging as it goes through the sharpener. Deducted points for a degree of deception, and the lost ability to buy separate sharpening blocks.
